Miss Lindsay
Lindsay grew up in the Washington DC area, and has been dancing for over 30 years studying acro, ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, musical theater, tap and swing dancing. She took various hip hop classes, but it didn’t really stick and that is much more her sister, Miss Suzanne’s thing! Lindsay was a senior dancer with the Agape performing arts theater for five years, performing at a variety of local and international venues. She has performed at Carnegie Hall, Disney World, Universal Studios, the Manhattan Center on Broadway with Colin Mochrie, and the Sydney 2000 Olympics, which left such a strong impression that she decided Sydney would be her future daughter's name. Lindsay has attended numerous master classes in DC, NYC, and California. As well as a full summer dance intensive at the North Carolina Dance Theater in Charlotte, NC. In 2006, Lindsay was selected to compete at the World Championships of Performing Arts as a member of Team USA. She returned home from California, after competing against representatives for over 40 other countries, with a gold medal in tap and comedic acting, a silver in ballet/pointe, a bronze in jazz, and as a spokesmodel, and an industry award for showmanship. She also received a scholarship to the New York Institute of Film and Television. In addition to her own performances, Lindsay choreographed award-winning dance routines for two of her teammates including Miss Suzanne. Lindsay studied dance at the Shenandoah University Conservatory in VA for a short time before accepting a position as a performer at Walt Disney World in 2007 and moving to FL to follow her dreams. In 2009, Lindsay was the featured performer for the opening cast of the Spring Carnival at the Tokyo Disney Sea park in Japan. After her time in Japan, Lindsay returned to Orlando to continue performing in various shows and parades, and featured aerial work around Disney property. She still performs there today, which has led to her asking quite a few amazing co-workers to join the X-factor family as cherished members of the faculty. Lindsay has been teaching for over 20 years, as she started teaching at her family studio when she was just 15 years old. Lindsay and Suzanne opened X-factor together in September of 2011 and make quite the team. X-factor originally started as a second location for their family studio back home in the DC area, and eventually separated to be a stand-alone business when her father sold his location to retire. He said he finally realized his daughter’s weren’t coming “home” to take it over, as their hearts were firmly based in Celebration. Lindsay loves sharing her passion for the arts with dancers and acrobats of all ages, but primarily focuses on our youngest dancers/acrobats to install a solid foundation with an element of fun! Lindsay and Suzanne have worked hard to build the culture for X-factor over the years as a warm, caring, and safe space for students of all ages. Which now includes her very own daughter Sydney.
